About the film

The film, "Legacy: Taiwan Celts", is a moving and inspiring story about a young Irish man who played a pivotal role in building a community that ignited a passion for the Irish sport Gaelic Football in Asia.
Through personal interviews with Derek's friends, family, and members of the Gaelic football community around the world, the film portrays Derek's life - from his childhood in Ireland to his move to Taiwan and his dedication to promoting Gaelic games and Irish culture abroad.
The film delves into the motivations behind Derek's creation of the Taiwan Celts and how this club, and the tournament he co-founded, has brought together thousands of people from all over the world to celebrate and preserve Irish culture in Asia to this day. It also highlights the impact that Derek had on the people around him and the community that he helped to build.
We celebrate Derek's life and legacy, through the continuation of the tournament the Asian Gaelic Games, and the lastin he has had on people in Taiwan and around the world. It's an uplifting and emotional tribute to a remarkable young man, who lived his life to the fullest and left a lasting imprint on us all.
Meet the team
Director
Originally from Kansas City, MO, Jordan is a self taught filmmaker that was given the opportunity to write and direct short films and video content for a prominent English school in Taiwan.
With three years experience writing and directing the film program, he now owns his own videography company that has produced projects that range from music videos, documentaries, promotional/commercial content, and more.
Jordan has an eclectic background from personal experiences and strives to tell compassionate, impactful stories through film.
Executive Producer
Born and raised in the west of Ireland, Chris has spent over 10 years living and working in Asia.
For the past 4 years he has served as the chairperson of the Taiwan Celts, the club that was originally founded by Derek Brady in 1995.
Chris is the Founder and General Manager of a market leading STEM education company in Taipei, and has extensive project management skills. He has spent several years researching this story and building relationships with those that Derek has impacted, and he is incredibly passionate about bringing Dereks legacy to life in this film.
Producer
From the midlands of Ireland, Rebecca left home to study Chinese and has since been working in Asia for the past 8 years.
While having never played Gaelic football back home, it quickly became a major part of her life in Asia. Rebecca fell in love with the unique story, spirit and energy of the Taiwan Celts.
In her 4th year playing for the club, and 2nd year as the secretary, she is intent on sharing this story far and wide to show the influence that Derek has left on both GAA communities and individuals in Asia.
Financial Officer
Evan has over 15 years' experience within global business development. He has spent the last three years consulting directly with both multinational corporations and small businesses looking to reach their potential. This follows delivering dozens of international trade missions into the USA, Europe, the Middle-East and Asia.
Evan has cultivated a strong, current and reliable network of senior personnel within both the public and private sectors. He can be relied upon to provide up-to-date and relevant strategic business intelligence, advice and strategies.
